Well for some reason this never quite takes off for me. I had many grand plans and ideas for this blog but life kept getting in the way. So here we go again for another try, quite a lot has changed since my last entry but in the interests of anonymity i`ll not mention what they are. For the interests of this blog they are`nt relevant anyway, well not really. A little back story here, i`m currently disabled with problems with legs and feet which i have had for many years. The reasons for this were a combination of factors including i guess not looking after my health properly stress and accidental injury has led me through some very bad and painful days and brings me up to today. A lot of the pain has now passed which leaves me to live my life a lot easier however things are still not easy. This is not going to be self pity, that's not me but its important i think to lay out who i am as much as possible.
This week I had a medical benefits assessment. To be fair the lady Doctor who performed it was very good and put me at ease straight away which really helped especially when you are making a case to keep your lively hood. I actually don`t have a problem with the original principle behind these tests which was to weed out the bullshitters and fraudsters even though the campaign was media led the government of the time felt the need to implement these changes. However after the Tories came to power this changed to testing what work you could do and all the people in work said fucking yes go for it and while your at it get the rest of the poor to do something even if it means slave labour. you all applauded when they cut housing benefit and you just can`t see it can you?
There are 2 things to note here i believe that 1. The reason for all this is so the Tories can distract the majority of people from the cuts to services around the country and 2. The Benefits system which i went reluctantly into when i gave up work is not as complicated as they would have you believe and if you have to give up work for any reason you will finally realise the you have`nt been paying to keep me sat at home while you work, you were paying for the same system to look after you, which has now gone and replaced with something far more harsher and austere. At least the poor are used to being screwed you are going to find it a lot more uncomfortable. My next blog will be next Friday or before if i feel like it.
